I work with food technical directors typically in own brand suppliers or retailers who lack experienced resource to deliver a vision or solve a food technology related issue. I help them to achieve their goals, add value to their businesses and give them the freedom to focus elsewhere, safe in the knowledge that I will deliver to meet their needs.

Typically my clients are managing teams within the fresh produce sector. Their teams often struggle to understand retailer priorities, relationship building and the unique way in which individual retailers like to work. One of the frustrations they share is the need to continually focus and refine their offer to win business for example through innovation. It’s hard to know what to prioritise when the goalposts keep shifting.

My clients often have the vision, but they lack the skilled technical resource to deliver it and are swamped with managing the rest of their business. I help them to build their teams to meet UK retailer needs and give them the capability and freedom to focus their attention where it can offer most value.

Problem solving is my favourite part of any job. I can help not only find the root cause of an issue but also work to create and implement a robust action plan to prevent the issue recurring as well as developing associated processes and procedures to make your business more robust. In many circumstances it is possible to turn a problem into an opportunity to demonstrate control and thereby gaining credibility with the business’ customers.
